Therapeutic approach
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) is a structured, collaborative approach that examines how situations, thoughts, emotions, physical responses and behaviour interact.
How it works
You and your counsellor identify patterns that may be maintaining distress, develop a shared understanding of the problem and test more helpful ways of thinking and responding.
What it may involve
- collaborative formulation
- behavioural experiments
- coping-skills practice
- relapse-prevention planning
It may be considered for
- anxiety and persistent worry
- low mood and reduced activity
- avoidance and unhelpful habits
- stress and sleep-related patterns
How it may be used at Kaeva
CBT may be used on its own or integrated with behavioural, mindfulness-based, compassion-focused or trauma-informed work, depending on your needs.
Finding the right fit matters
No single approach is right for every person or concern. Your counsellor will consider safety, readiness, preferences, goals and whether the approach fits their training and scope.
