Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) explores emotions and attachment needs in individual sessions, supporting a more secure connection with yourself and others.
How it works
EFIT brings attention to emotional patterns and the needs beneath them. At a pace that feels manageable, you can explore vulnerable feelings and practise new ways of responding to yourself and others.
What it may involve
- noticing recurring emotional patterns
- exploring needs for safety and connection
- working with difficult or vulnerable feelings
- developing more flexible responses to yourself and others
It may be considered for
- anxiety and low mood
- self-criticism and self-doubt
- feeling emotionally disconnected
- distress in relationships
How it may be used at Kaeva
Trautman has completed Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) Essentials training through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). EFIT may be integrated with other approaches according to your needs, preferences and goals.
Finding the right fit matters
No single approach is right for every person or concern. Your counsellor will consider safety, readiness, preferences, goals and whether the approach fits their training and scope.
